Top Picture Frame Wax Seal Ideas
USE POSTAGE STAMPS AS ARTWORK
Postage stamps are often an ideal size to use in picture frame wax seals because the image has already been shrunken down to the ideal size.
You can use a craft knife/ stanley knife to cut out the inside of the frame, and a pair of embroidery scissors to cut around the edge of the frame. I used craft glue to stick the frame onto the postage stamp, and the wax seal to the envelope.
USE DRIED, PRESSED FLOWERS
Preserve your beautiful, pressed flowers and show them off in the wax seal frame!
Add the flower right before you press the stamp into the wax, and cut around the edge of the frame once the wax seal has cooled.
USE PHOTOS
If you are able to print photos to a size that fits within one of the picture frame wax seals, you can create adorable photo memorabilia.

USE STICKERS OR WASHI TAPE
You can stick the stickers/ washi tape straight onto the the wax seal, without having to cut out the inside of the picture frame. You just have to make sure the sticker/ washi tape fits, or cut it to size beforehand.
USE PAPER FROM EVERYDAY LIFE
Take a second look at any paper or cardstock that you have on hand/ come your way which you might be able to reuse in your wax seal picture frames.
- Scrapbooking craft paper pads (use small scraps from your other projects that might otherwise be thrown away)
- Letter Writing Paper or Memo Pad Paper (Have a look at whether the border illustrations or backside of the paper would be suitable)
- Wrapping Paper (a great way to reuse wrapping paper from gifts that you've received, or scraps from when you're wrapping a gift)
- Greeting Cards (If you don't keep the greeting cards that you receive, have a look at the illustrations or patterns on the front)
- Magazines
- Flyers & brochures (Sometimes you receive free flyers & brochures from places like art galleries, tourist attactions, museums, thank-you cards from online orders etc. These are often illustrative and contain interesting graphics).
