This high-quality writing mat is designed for Copperplate and modern calligraphy practice. The 52, 55 and 62 degree diagonal and parallel lines assist with maintaining a consistent slant as you write, and there are guidelines for the ascender, descender and baseline. The 5 and 45 degree slant is suitable for Italic script, while Arabic script typically requires a slant between 45 to 65 degrees.

The mat is slightly larger than A4, so the edges of your A4 paper will sit nicely within the mat. The mat is flexible yet firm enough to provide a comfortable writing experience.

The lines have been printed by Japanese craftsmen with skilled precision. 

Details:

  • Made from a specially treated PVC recycled mat fabric that has a non-slip effect against paper
  • Black mat means the white lines can be seen when a white piece of paper is placed on top
  • Size: A4+ (H306 x W228mm), slightly larger than A4 size paper, which makes it easy to write all the way to the edge of the paper
