Here’s a simple origami folding technique that’s useful when you don’t have an envelope on hand, or if you just want to try something fun and creative
How To Fold an Origami Letter Without An Envelope
Instructions
- Fold the letter in half, open it out again, then rotate the letter onto its side (landscape orientation)
- Fold the top left and bottom right corners inwards toward the centre fold. Crease
- Fold the bottom left corner upwards and top right corner downwards until they meet the edges of the paper that were folded inwards in step 2. Crease
- Fold the pointed corners inwards again, aligned towards the centre fold
- Tuck the corners into the small v-shaped pocket flaps
- Add a wax seal to prevent unauthorised peeking
Ideas for how to use this:
- Use thick wrapping paper to turn this into a money envelope when giving cash as a gift
- Fold your penpal letter like this before putting it into the envelope. Your penpal will have even more fun opening their happy mail
- Write a note to your future self, setting out the manifestation of your dreams. It's exciting to open it later on and see how many of your goals came into fruition
