How To Make A Watermelon Wax Seal

This wax seal idea is another way you can use your Blank Wax Seal Stamp to make something fruitaliciously creative 🍉

To make watermelon wax seals, you will need:

• Sealing wax: Bold Red, Ivory White, Forest Green
• Melting tools
• Blank wax seal stamp
• Semi-transparent non-stick crafting mat & Wax Pouring Guide
• Scissors
• 3M round double sided adhesive stickers
• Tweezers
• Black fine-tipped permanent marker

Method:

1. Melt a small amount of red wax and using the Wax Pouring Guide beneath the crafting mat as a reference, pour and stamp the wax using a blank wax stamp. You want there to be around a 2mm gap between the edge of the wax and the circle outline. If you lift off the stamp and see that the wax isn't centred within the circle outline, you can move the mat so that it's recentred. Remember that you can always remelt the wax if you need to
2. Melt a slightly larger amount of ivory white wax, then pour it on top of the red wax and stamp it. You want to use enough wax so that when stamped, the edge of the wax reaches the edge of the circle outline, to form the white edge of the watermelon. Once cooled, peel the wax off the crafting mat and flip it around. This should be flat, so trim the wax edge if needed
3. Melt your forest green wax like you would when making a regular wax seal (ie. using approx 4 beads) and pour it onto the crafting mat. Using a pair of tweezers, carefully place the red & white flat seal into the centre of the green wax, and stamp it
4. Allow the wax to cool, remove the stamp and draw seeds using a black permanent marker
5. Remove your watermelon wax seal from the crafting mat, and either leave the watermelon as is, or cut it in half to make a watermelon slice
6. Add a 3M double sided backing (cutting it to size if required)
